I just read this on Justin Taylor's Theologica blog. I am amazed this gets no press. This just happened a few weeks ago.
Here's a great question to the abundance preachers...
Would you go to church if you faced this? Would your people?
Only if you have a Treasure greater than the here and now and life was Christ and death was really gain.
Denny Burk: "Two weeks ago, I saw a little story in the Associated Press about some Christians who were murdered in Turkey. The story was relatively non-descript. It briefly noted that three Christians had their throats cut by some Islamic radicals. The rest of the piece talked about how religious persecution might hurt Turkey’s bid to join the European Union. Little did I know then the horror and the glory of what really happened."
