This video titled "America's Ugly Exported Gospel" from Desiring God Ministries is amazingly powerful and so true. It hit's the nail right on the head.
After walking through the urban slums of Ethiopia last week trying to hold back tears as malnourished children everywhere played in the sewers and lived in things you can hardly call houses, and 20% + of the people are dying of AIDS right in front of you I cannot agree with this video more strongly.
May God wake us up as a church and as a body who claims to treasure Christ. This is not mearly a Government problem, it is a church teaching a false gospel problem, and a church delighted with the things of the world problem. It is a church that is disobedient and selfish that needs corrective discipline problem.
We need to treasure Christ, so we don't treasure stuff!
These people are desperate for hope and desperate for care as are most of the poorest of the poor.
We could do something. We have been given much. We have so many resources, and we have Christ and his glorious gospel of hope.
