The Bereans...Where are they!

I found this blog interesting. It lists verses of what we are to beware of in false teachers.
Sadly though it will take more than just verses to open peoples eyes to their own idolatry and the deception that is in the church today by these so called brothers.

I admit when talking to people who believe this there is no verse, no investigation, no reasoning that can change peoples minds. I feel like I am talking to people who are brainwashed or belong to a cult.

If what these men are saying is true then why not test their teaching against the whole of scripture?

Part of it is these ministries discourage testing, questioning, or thinking anything but what they say...to do that would be not to have faith.

That's the opposite of what the Bereans did when taught by the man who authored the majority of the New Testament.
In acts 17:11 the Bereans were commended for testing...

Acts 17:11
Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness,(A) examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

Without prayer, fasting and God doing a work in peoples hearts I am convinced the prosperity gospel will continue to flourish....because it sounds so good!
