Cancer Misdiagnosis brings Bankruptcy

CBS News reports
"John Brandrick, 62, was told two years ago that he had terminal pancreatic cancer, Britain's Press Association news agency reported. He decided to spend his remaining time in style, quitting his job and spending his savings on hotels, restaurants and holidays."

He has now found out that the diagnosis was wrong, that he is not dying, and that he is broke. So he's suing his doctor?

I'm Serious!!!

This story is to me like a strange twist to Luke 12:16-20
And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.' 20But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?'
where the rich man plans to build bigger barns to hold his seemingly ample goods.
Though this man was not trusting life itself as life was seemingly being taken by cancer, it still showed the heart which was small pleasures of self destruction (some might call it abundance) that would soon end.

It kind of reminds me of a song Tim McGraw sings that was a hit last year called "Live like you were dying". In the song a man gets a similar prognosis that life would soon over due to some disease, so he re-examines life. Here is part of the lyrics... I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Manchu.

Now it's a catchy tune, and I think we should live our lives knowing tomorrow is no guarantee, for life is a vapor, yet I find it sad that many believers prescribe to this shallow ideology of "the good life".

Why waste your life falling from the sky or riding cows when you will soon meet your God, while nearly 1,000,000,000 Muslims don't hear the gospel, while ministries run short handed in your own cities, and abortion is now a form of birth control, Genocide and AIDS are killing half of Africa, and child sex trade is permeating Southeast Asia?
The only answer I have is that we must really not believe in God.

I don't risk much, so this goes for me too. Inconvenience yourself and Don't Waste Your Life
