Wilberforce!

I wish I'd have had more British history. I have really been amazed to learn of the life of faith and persistant public policy in the midst of a perverse trade called slavery.
The Britons were so far ahead of the USA on this issue as we only de-segregated 30 years ago.
We tolerated slavery and used it to make rich plantation owners for far too long.
I still see a confederate flag far to often even in the MN.
The new movie Amazing Grace: The story of Wilberforce is in theatres, and is done great.

The most amazing line is when John Newton the great English preacher speaks concering his role as a former captain of a slave ship when speaking to Wilberforce states his tearfull famous line, "I know two things, I am a great sinner, and Christ is a Great Savior"

My prayer is that if God would see fit to raise up people like Wilberforce. We so need them as our land profits from abortion, sex slavery in many parts of the world and Sudan and much of Africa is ruined by genocide and AIDS, to name a few.

We plea God for people who see you as so great that they are radical in risk taking for the great cause of Christ in these shocking injustices of our day. Thank you for the faith and fight of men who faught for your just cause, and your glory. Thank you for men like Wilberforce. may there be more in our day!
